Why and how we do what we do
I Can Make was formed in 2014, to help children and adults learn about 3D printing, and discover the huge potential it has for changing how we make things in the future. We create simple, fun, exciting kits, for use in school or at home.
We have been funded by Bethnal Green Ventures, the Nominet Trust and angel investors. We're currently part of the Wayra Unlimited startup programme. We've also been fortunate to have been mentored by the Open Data Institute and Ignite100.
We were finalists at Pitch to Rich 2014, where we pitched to Sir Richard Branson and were described as 'ones to watch' and more recently pitched to HRH The Duke of York at St James' Palace as a finalist in Pitch at Palace 2015.
As well as designing our own products, we work with institutions, to explore how they can use 3D printing to examine and disseminate their collections in new ways.
I Can Make comprises a group of experienced technologists, publishing experts and designers. We're also working with partners and experts around curriculum mapping and training. We care about making design and technology fun and inspiring for all children.Meet the team
