our CPD courses

An introduction to 3D printing and physical computing

The introduction to 3D printing and physical computing is a hands-on session with 3D printers and physical computing projects which will inspire children. This inspiring course will teach what’s possible and how and where to start.

  • basics of 3D printing
  • simple 3D printing projects to undertake with KS1&KS2 children
  • physical computing and simple electronics projects
  • controlling and simulating physical systems

Making the computing curriculum fun

It’s not always easy to make the computing curriculum fun, but I Can Make has a unique way of teaching that will get any student excited.

I Can Make CPD workshops are designed around the needs of teachers and around the question ‘How to bring the computing curriculum alive by integrating code and simple electronics’. This course is designed for KS1&2 teachers and DT coordinators and great for novices! Teachers will be able to take home what they made for a show-and-tell in their school.

This CPD course will cover the basics for teaching key computing principles such as:

  • computational thinking
  • logic, sequences, algorithms and variables
  • input and output, including data from the internet
  • controlling and simulating physical systems
